Things are looking a little differently around here because we moved to WordPress! And by we I really mean Jess because she did all the legwork moving the blog from Blogger to WordPress, setting up our new logo and getting the layout together.
The blog is mostly the same but I wanted the website to be easily searchable and cater to readers who are looking for specific themes and tropes in their books.
In the sidebar you’ll find Reviews by Rating. In the top navigation bar you’ll find Review by Genre, these are the popular ‘bookstore’ subgenres within romance. You will also find Reviews by Theme, these are the more specific elements regular romance readers often look for when trying to find their next read. You can expect these selections to expand as we work through our backlist of reviews.
The feature I’m most excited about is our tropes page where readers can browse reviews based on their favorite tropes. It’s still in its early phases but I’m hoping it will be a resource for recommendations and challenges. We’ve got 10 basic tropes up now, but I have future plans to expand it.
I’m still wrapping my head around all the WordPress features but the versatility and plugins have been great so far. If you have any favorite plugins let me know in the comments.
Needless to say, 2020 has been A YEAR and the blog has been in a little bit of hiatus for most of it. Hopefully, with this new design, we can hit a refresh on Romance and Sensibility’s 2020 because I have a lot of fun blog ideas floating in my head!
