Her Secret Lover by Robin Covington

This book has been my “little moments” book. I downloaded it on my phone and read it when I had a few moments to spare. I ended up finishing it during the hour long train ride from O’Hare Airport to Downtown Chicago and I got so caught up in it I missed a train stop !

This is my first book from Entangled’s Lovestruck line and it reads like Harlequin categories but with a modern sensibility. Kelsey is a Las Vegas hotel concierge and Micah Holes is the romance novelist and heartthrob she’s been assigned to. From the first chapter their relationship becomes the sole focus of the story. Lots of steaminess, lots of fluffiness and lots of humor ensue.

This is apart of Entangled’s What Happens in Vegas series, where each book that takes place during one romance convention in Vegas. I think that part of the reason I purchased this was to temper how I felt about not going to RT. I always like to see how romance novels get talked about in romance novels.

Our hero, Micah,  kind of fell into writing romance and wasn’t totally into the whole “writing romance” thing and I was okay with that. It wasn’t too self congratulatory about the industry and that felt realistic.

Overall I thought it was an enjoyable short read and if I would buy more of Covington’s work if it passsed my way

Sidenote

I’m glad they changed the cover of this book because the woman on the original cover looked like a propped up corpse.
